After June 1, 2014, Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Filing Will Cost That Much More
$29.00 Increase for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Filing Fees
As of June 1, 2014, filing fees for bankruptcy cases and certain types of motions and “adversary proceedings” in Bankruptcy Court will increase.
For Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, the forms of bankruptcy that most individuals pursue, the increase is $29.00 to these levels:
- Chapter 7: Increase from $306.00 to $335.00
- Chapter 13: Increase from $281.00 to $310.00
If you’ve been slowly gathering your documentation for your bankruptcy attorney or slowly gathering your funds for your attorney and filing-fees, this should be an indication that you may want to step up your pace to avoid paying another $29.00 for your debt relief process.
